What is the meaning, or purpose of life?
This book is to be about growth. Growth is the goal of your life. Be open to this thought. Be open to growth. No one can just ride along in life without something happening. Either a person grows or a person goes into decline. No one stays the same. There is no use in trying to hide from this truth. When you finish with your body, you come here to this second level of life, to this plane that looks so much like the earth plane. It is here you rest and contemplate your earth life and then go on with your true life.

Is Reincarnation Real?
God plans this good method (reincarnation) that souls may try again and again to grow into that which they are intended to become — their full potential. To understand reincarnation, one needs to give the growth idea the consideration it deserves. Growth is the purpose of life. Only growth. Growth is the spirit that comes into relationship with God who empties that soul of all ego and fills it with the God-life. Reincarnation is the way; growth is the purpose. Reincarnation takes the soul the long way to attain truth, but it is the plan that works. Growth comes with lifetime after lifetime.

True growth takes place by living many lifetimes. But there is more than one way to enter a life plan. One is by birth, the other is by re-entry when the first soul is tired of life, suicidal, without hope in solving problems. Then it is time to relinquish the body to another who will take on the problems and solve them. This new person will take the thought of this plane with him or her and put the process of getting our help into practice. The second one will fulfill the first one’s responsibilities and troubles will melt away. Then the new soul will perform the task for which he or she came to earth. The business of the open channel being the contact is fresh in the God-mind of the second soul, and that soul will move faster toward the truth. Then will come the true purpose and the pure untroubled substance that God has for those who wish to manifest.

People who seriously consider reincarnation as God’s plan for their soul growth inevitably want to know the specifics — names, dates, places of past lives. They want to know exact accomplishments and titles, if any. I asked someone in the Brotherhood to comment.
The specifics, as you call them, tell us nothing of soul growth. They only tell of the earth life lived in one tiny period. This lifetime becomes insignificant after you see the entire spectrum of lives, you see. Growth is what matters — not the specific lifetime which may have yielded so little in the way of success. The history of lifetimes, in fact, becomes boring to recite. The exactness you mention gives us no insights, no responsible touching of the truth of our being.

Why must we continue to return to earth for successive lives?
If you decline in your earth life instead of growing, you must go through growth here on this plane. But it is much harder here because there is no hardship to go through or overcome. There is no lesson to learn through living. The Brotherhood of God is here to help, to counsel, but not to direct. We transfer spiritual gifts to you, but we do not act in your place. You must act. We must help. That is our relationship.

What is the afterlife like?
What do we do in the next plane of life – just learn truth?
The question is not phrased exactly right. Everyone needs new God-mind truth, but many already have much of this truth within them. Why do they need more? Here is the real question.
The eternal truth that is instated within one’s soul is indeed useful. This truth holds a person to the plan that was brought to this earth life. That anyone should spend extensive time in the next plane relearning what is already known is not at all purposeful, is it?
Therefore, it is well to understand that when one arrives here with God truth instated, we, who guide the spirits newly arrived, will redirect the one who does not need this plane’s work into a more appropriate plane where he can work at whatever he wishes. The fertile and creative part goes with him, and he will open himself to many new and interesting thoughts in the plane he enters.
The next plane of life, from where we speak with you, is only the first of many, many planes. The planes are not teamed up with the idea that one is higher or better than another, but they are teamed up with the idea that wherever the spirit is in development, there is an appropriate plane of activity.
The place where you will live and work, the plane that is open to you in this better expression of life, will provide you with opportunities that you cannot even imagine now. Therefore, open yourself to the understanding that there is no way that all of you go through exactly what the entities presented in this book go through.
You are each unique; you are in different stages of development. In the entering plane you will learn where you should be, and you will, along with your guide, make decisions for your growth and advancement. The perfect way is provided here because the God of the Universe prevails in His greatness, His perfection, in His teamwork with all who want to be one with Him.
Therefore, hope for the best that existence can be, for you are sure then to receive the highest and the best. The lifetime experience in earth may be good, but the way we view things here, it is but the training ground for the advancing soul. Team up with the Brotherhood to learn how to connect to God-mind, and we will open the many doors of possibilities for you.

If the afterlife is real, are we judged by God when we leave earth for the afterlife?
God is not judging our characters or deciding who is deserving of this demonstration. Some may be put off by this lack of judgment, believing that only deserving people should demonstrate truth. “This is erroneous,” says the Brotherhood, “The truth enters people to make them partners with God-one with true Perfection, true Eternal Good. There is no judgment needed when people team up with the truth from God-mind.”

Does hell exist? Are we punished by God for our deeds in the world?

This is our truth, that you will create here on this plane whatever picture you have of your being. We want you to understand how compatibility works. Every person has a tone that is special or unique. It will not be the same as anyone else’s. Never think that two persons can be one or will occupy the same space, for this is not possible. But there can be compatibility. Is God Real?
Real? The spirit is real, my friend. The spirit is indestructible, ongoing, tangible in the sense that it is the part of you that becomes the reality on this plane next to earth plane.
That God only sends thoughts of a vague unreality is only the way it seems in the earth-mind where this idea festers. God is not seen by earth eyes because God is in evidence to the point where His greatness overwhelms your own ability to see Him. The ant that crawls right up to your finger and then proceeds on its way up your arm has no idea that he is aboard a huge human being who can crush it in a moment. If he could see you, he would run. You are too huge for that ant to see.
Eternal truth pushes through to the earth plane to give you some concept of God, but there are many who do not even see this truth in motion right there in their midst. They cry out, “There is no God,” when the truth they should cry out is, “I am blind! I am indeed blind.”
God is the only reality that eternalizes in the wide universe. If you feel it necessary to see this God, you hold such a small concept of Him that it is hardly worth commending. God is too vast for you, too great for you, too much for your understanding and certainly too much for your poor eyesight! Therefore, turn within to the temple of your being and there and only there can you meet this One of whom we speak.
